Lodhi Dynasty was the last Dynasty of Delhi Saltanate. It was
founded by Bahlul Lodhi in 1451 who was the Ghizlai tribe of the Afghans. There
were three main rulers in the history of Lodi dynasty.

- Conquested
Jaunpur by ousting Sharqui dynasty.

SIKANDAR LODHI ( 1489-1517 )
- Sikandar
Lodhi whose real name was Nizam Khan was the son of Bahlol Lodhi who
conquered Bihar and Western Bengal
- Introduced
the Gaz-i-Sikandari ( Sikandar’s yard ) of 32
digits for measuring cultivated fields.
- He
founded the city of Agra in 1504 and made it his capital.
- Set
up an efficient espionage system and introduced the system of auditing of
accounts.
- Was
a poet himself and wrote verses in Persian under the pen-name of Gulrukhi.
- Repaired Qutub Minar.
IBRAHIM LODHI ( 1517-1526 )
- Last
king of Lodhi Dynasty and last sultan of Delhi Sultanate.
- He
was the son of Sikandar Lodhi.
- Was
defeated and killed by Babur in the First Battle of Panipat in
1526.
- No
Sultan of India except Sultan Ibrahim had been killed on the battle field.
